Kent was born in Regina, Saskatchewan and spent his early years moving across Canada before settling in Campbell River in 1976. He graduated from Robron in 1987 and subsequently attained degrees from U.B.C. and McGill University. Kent obtained his CA designation while working for KPMG in Toronto and moved back to Campbell River in 1997. He became a partner in Moeller & Company in 1998 and has thoroughly enjoyed his professional career in Campbell River.
Kent has been a Rotarian since 1998, has been on the Boards of Greenways Land Trust, Rotary, Rivercorp, Campbell River Hospital Foundation and is currently on the Board of the Campbell River Salmon Foundation.
Born in Kitimat and raised in Campbell River, Kyle is a partner with Moeller Matthews Chartered Professional Accountants. Kyle completed his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Victoria majoring in Economics and knew early on that he wanted to be a Chartered Accountant. Kyle achieved his CA designation in 2007 following his successful completion of the UFE in 2006. Kyle’s focus is providing quality accounting and taxation services to small and owner managed businesses helping them succeed by developing positive relationships and understanding their needs in both the short and long term.
Committed to improving access to education for all, Kyle served as the secretary/treasurer for the North Island College Foundation for 6 years. His past volunteer activities have included being a facilitator for the Campbell River Elder College and Campbell River Junior Achievement Program.
When Kyle is not in the office he is busy raising two young, energetic daughters. In his spare time, you will find Kyle boating around Desolation Sound, playing slo-pitch, fishing for steelhead in the local rivers, brewing beer, or playing golf in and around the Campbell River area.
Charlene graduated from BCIT in 2004 and began her professional career in Vancouver working in real estate development, returning to Campbell River in 2008. Charlene successfully completed the UFE in 2013 and received her CA designation shortly thereafter. With a focus in taxation, trusts, and estate planning, Charlene works closely with our team to provide and implement tax planning opportunities for our corporate and individual clients.
Having been raised in Campbell River and the surrounding area, Charlene feels a strong commitment to our community. She acts as the Secretary Treasurer for both the Campbell River Chamber of Commerce and the Campbell River Writer’s Festival Society, and as an advocate of the KidStart program, enjoys her time as a friend and mentor to two young girls.
In her personal time Charlene enjoys golf, squash, beach volleyball, snowboarding, snowshoeing and spending time with her dog, Bailey.
Clarke Hauser received his CA designation in 1975 in Calgary with Coopers & Lybrand. He relocated to Vancouver Island in 1976, settling permanently in Campbell River in 1986. Clarke went to work at Holloway & Company in 1996 and became sole principal of the firm 2010. Clarke joined Moeller Matthews in 2018 and will spend the next while helping his clients with Moeller Matthews. Clarke and his wife thoroughly enjoy the Campbell River area and spend their time kayaking in local waters and cross country skiing on Mt. Washington.
Born and raised on the Sunshine Coast in a resource based town similar to Campbell River, he completed his CGA designation in 1999. Matthew joins Moeller Matthews with 24 years of public practice experience, the last 12 were in a managerial role. He especially enjoys the client relationships and personalized tax planning. He will be serving our corporate clients as well as assisting with our personal tax team. In his spare time he enjoys boating, dirt biking and flying the airplane he built.
Louise joined our firm in January of 2019. She has over 20 years of public practise experience with national firms and 3 years of experience as a Controller for First Nation entities. Her background includes extensive experience with small businesses, not-for-profit organizations, municipalities and first nations. In her spare time, she enjoys boating with her husband, their children and grandchildren.
In 2016, John completed a Bachelor of Technology Accounting degree at BCIT. He articled with a medium-sized public practice firm in Vancouver, wrote the CFE in September 2018, and is currently awaiting results. John has experience preparing corporate tax returns for small to medium sized businesses’ in a variety of industries, as well as preparation of trust and personal tax returns. John has also worked for two non-profit organizations in Vancouver, providing bookkeeping and payroll services.
Vancouver Island has always been home for John. He has spent most of his life living here with the exception of brief stints in Vancouver and Ontario. After moving to Vancouver to pursue post-secondary education, he is happy to return with his wife, fun loving two year-old daughter and soon to be. Outside of the office, John enjoys spending time with family, playing ice hockey, golfing and salmon fishing with his dad and brother.
William made the transition to full time accounting in 2013 after beginning his career in real estate development. Starting with Moeller Matthews in 2018, having previously worked in a firm with a focus on professional corporations, William is thrilled to be working with a diverse base of clients. Active in pursuit of a CPA designation William is completing prerequisite courses for entry into the CPA program.
A father of three, William spends most of his leisure time with his children’s activities and is involved with the Campbell River Judo Club. William enjoys gardening, scale models and foraging for wild mushrooms.
Laura grew up in the Discovery Islands and relocated to Victoria in 2001 where she worked at a large marine dealership. She moved to Campbell River in 2008 and continued her work in the marine industry.
Laura joined Moeller Matthews in 2018 with a Certificate in Business Administration, with a focus in accounting. Laura works closely with her clients on their bookkeeping and payroll needs, NTR’s and personal and corporate tax returns.
You can find Laura spending her days off hiking, camping or walking her dog.
Lisa has been a team member of Moeller Matthews since December of 2000, providing reception and administrative services.
Lisa was born in Prince George and moved to Campbell River at a very young age with her family. After graduating high school, she moved to Victoria and attended UVIC, but made her way back to Campbell River where she is happy to call this paradise home and raise her daughters.
When she is not working, Lisa is usually running or hiking the trails, travelling and enjoys the sport of dragon boating and volunteering for different organizations throughout the year with her team.
Returning to Campbell River to be closer to family Nicole lived in Victoria for the past 10 years. Nicole joined Moeller & Company in September 2015 after having worked in the banking industry for 5 years.
When Nicole’s not at work, you will find her either spending time with her daughter and family, enjoying her love of books, or out on the boat.
Susan recently joined the Moeller Matthews team as Office Administrator after holding the same position at an accounting firm in Duncan for 9 years. Susan is an integral part of our team and she takes pride in ensuring the office runs smoothly.
She was born and raised in the Cowichan Valley where along with her husband, she raised 3 wonderful children. Now that the kids are grown and taking the world by the storm, she has two little dogs to care for.
When she is not working, Susan can be found with family and friends or out fishing on the coast with her husband.
